Not everyone who rides a V-Twin or Harley Davidson has an issue with their pants blowing up their legs while riding. However, there is a huge market for Ryder Straps/Stirrup straps for that single purpose. I have to admit, I was one of those Ryders. I couldn’t stand riding down the road on my bad ass bike and all everyone saw was white socks and 2 hairy meat loaves! Ego, Maybe? All I knew is it didn’t make for a comfortable ride. I started using, “if your from up north” something that resembled a mitton clip. I painted them black and thought I was on to something really cool. Until my friends started calling me mitton clips and spats. Then came the day I was taking a ride out to the everglades with my friend Scotty Wadd. It hit me like a ton of bricks! If I cut the middle stretch band away from the two clips, then put them together with a zip tie. I could now clip them to the lace of my boot and the middle of my pant cuff. That was it!! I started gluing cool conchos on them and my problem was solved with function, safety and style! After a little while people would start asking me where I bought them? I said I made them. That’s where Ryder Clips originated from.
